Your Facilitators

Paul Herrmann is a permaculture educator and biologist. After his master in plant physiology, he turned his head into permaculture and sustainable living. To apply his teachings, he co-founded the VELA VEGA permaculture hostel in Sicily, where he designed a mediterranean agroforestry system. At the heart of his work is the wish to reconnect people with nature and showing them ways to use natural patterns in their day to day life.

Yusuf Alkan is a Biophysicist and Biodynamic Gardener. As a Scientist he did research in different areas of plant-physiology at several universities in Germany and Switzerland. The combination of scientific thinking and his practical experiences in Biodynamic- and Permaculture-gardening led him to develop an efficient and ecological concept for maintaining and creating Ecosystems in balance with human activity.
With his knowledge in molecular Plant-Physiology he wants to convey scientifically based knowledge about how to use natural resources to support plants and animals to form healthy ecosystems. Besides producing Food and natural ecosystems he is interested in the healing power of plant active ingredients and the scientifically proven positive influence of conscious gardening on the body and the mind.
